Vivi's Belated Plotting Post

First of all, I would like to officially if tentatively say that I think I am finally out of my lyme disease-inspired tagging slump! You guys have all been wonderfully patient with me and my absolute charming, darling bb-sans, so thank you allllll. :<

Now that the obligatory sappiness is out of the way (tsuntsuntsun) I HAVE A FEW ORDERS OF BUSINESS TO TAKE CARE OF. I'm posting it all here to clear the air and make sure everyone that needs to be informed is informed. If anyone has any input, even if you're not strictly involved - or if you want to be involved - I welcome it. B)


Brian
Brian first because he's simplest. Right now he's around or just before Father Knows Best. Once I go through that, I'm going to hop through Seeing Red and the finale really fast, so what does this mean?

I'm planning on having Brian never make that final trip to Dex's apartment to kill Deb. With the other options that the community presents to him, i.e. leaving the world where he's being searched for as a particularly vicious serial killer, he'd make a difference choice. The current plan is that he'll contact Claire, make up some story about being rejected by Deb, and ask to stay with her for a couple days. Once there, he'll kidnap her / hold her hostage and come to find out about her powers, which will result in her getting amputated, um, several times.

DOES ANYONE WANT HIM TO SEND THEM BODY PARTS / HELP RESCUE HER? He doesn't necessarily need to know them and they don't need to be related to either of them for them to get random body parts, trust me. This is all a few weeks in the future, but moar planning = bettar planning.

Additionally, anyone know where he can get a worldhopping device / ability? It'd make things a lot easier, and he'd prefer, if he wasn't relying on anyone else.


Zuko
Zuko has two things coming up! Or, well, two and potentially three. First of all, Peter's coming to (accidentally) visit the Fire Nation this week, where he'll pick up firebending. He'll probably be there for a few days, aka as soon as we get bored and Zou-san moves him on. Feel free to set up posts to interact with him while he's there, I'm sure she'd love to entertain you. B)

Second order of business, I asked for permission on a mini virus for him to do with Suze at some point where he'd be a ghost for a few days. Yes, we're... shameless. Just thought I'd prep you all on that, idk. lol We'll see if it goes through~~

AND FINALLY, THE EXCITING PART. FIRE NATION DANCE PARTY ROUND TWO m-maybe I mean, it'd be huge and a big event so it'd take mod approval and scheduling, and it'd be at least a month away. I'm just putting the feelers out. Originally Aang was going to organize this, but since Francy dropped him (sadfaces in corner) he's going to background NPC push Zuko into it.

Rei
Rei's going through EoE soon. What This Means For You is that she's going to make an ominous final post as Rei III to her journal and then answer back a few days later, mysteriously, as Rei IV, the next clone. I'm still trying to decide how much of her memories she should retain. Strictly canonly speaking, she shouldn't remember anything, but that this is even happening at all is beyond canon and the only way I could work it... Not to mention. It's EoE, so who even the fuck knows. I might just handwave her getting all of her memories back, if no one has anything to gainsay it, because that'd be easiest for me.

When Rei IV tags back, she's going to be in a decimated, destroyed world with two other people on it (Shinji and Asuka, not the one on the comm, obv). Someone'll have to come pick her up. idk where she'll go from there - at the moment there's vague plans for her to join the rest of the Eva cast, but if Asuka pitches a fit that doesn't work out IC, that might change. There's also tentative plans for her to work for Rufus since he's still hiring and she's... an obedient little doll thing with an A.T. Field.

There is one big thing left to be resolved for her, however! Rei is a clone, and her body doesn't really function on its own. It takes constant medical attention from Ritsuko in canon to keep her intact - in EoE, her arm just flat out falls off because she's gone too long. There's some implication that it'd happen eventually anyway, no matter what, but long or short of it Rei IV is going to be on a ticking clock. Any ideas anyone has for how to resolve this would be lovely, whether it's getting a new body / being a shinigami / medical intervention / what have you.

Brian tries to hide it but if Stein asks him the right questions while he's being emotional over Dexter, it'll be pretty obvious that his killing is rooted in pretty severe childhood issues. Not to mention Brian likes to use the details of his past for shock value in getting people to back off, which probably wouldn't work on Stein. LOL

I bet, actually, that Stein would be a good influence on him. He wouldn't accept anyone that he saw as an authority figure (see: my talking with Lilith over this) but Stein could probably slip between the cracks and become more like a real friend. Well, we'll see, obviously I can't speak to much to what Brian will do until he does it. But if Brian does make that association to Stein's sense of controlling himself as being like Dexter... LOL, bucket of issues, let me show you them.

LOL, yeah. I don't know for sure how things will go down because it really does depend on how things go and what they talk about when. It's very difficult to predict from here, but I'm really looking forward to seeing where it goes!

Stein's own issues have nothing to do with trauma, rofl. He was just born that way. But he understands sociopathy the same way Dexter does - something he knows he has, and has to cope with in order to be accepted in society.

I would love to see Stein have a good influence on Brian and for them to become proper friends.

Yeahhhh it has huge potential but characters like this have a tendency to go off and do their own thing without player consent, in my experience. XD

The common theory in the psych world right now is that sociopaths / general serial killers even that aren't sociopaths need to both have a mental predisposition at birth and some kind of catalytic incident to go down the criminal path, so that backs you up pretty nicely. :|b

He'll lash out all over the place, but that element of someone who understands would probably nudge him over into being open to it. If Stein could put up with him being a pathetic puppy after Dexter, anyway. I'm going to have to assume that once Brian leaves his world he won't be able to get back no matter what unless we get a Dexter, or that'd take far too much NPCing. l-lol

And yes, for sure. In flashbacks, Stein shows an obvious emotional disconnect from his fellow students and stuff. Even at a very young age he attacks other kids and talks about dissecting them. So he definitely started early. But there's no sign of actual trauma, though his parents are definitely out of the picture, so they may have been killed in some nasty way for all I know. The only thing I know for certain is that he's probably an orphan. The circumstances of that are a mystery. Basically another, older student is assigned to keep Stein in check, and Stein directs all of his violent urges towards enemies of the school (and that student) from then on.

LOL, that would be annoying. It'd probably solve a lot of problems if he can't get back to stalk his bb brother, for sure.

Okay first of all, BB STEIN IS SO FUCKING CUTE AWWWWWWWW.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if he did have something violent about his parents or someone else, but I know that's incredibly difficult to play out without canon confirmation either way, so I'm with you on keeping it vague. I do that with Rei and try not to explain anything the series doesn't, as it's a big part of Eva. Avatar, on the other hand, I don't care about doing that with because the creators were all for a comprehensive and explained world. XD

...Yeah, I eat up this stuff on formation of sociopathy, btw. B( I could go on forever about my headcanon for Brian if you want me to. It's tricky because, on the one hand, I think it's vital to have that headcanon to play him. But on the other hand... when does it become too much and approach OOC? :|a

The way I figure it, his parents were definitely dead. Either it wasn't traumatic, or it was and he can't remember, or it was and he refuses to talk about it. Either way, I can leave it vague. Sadly Soul Eater isn't great about explaining the backgrounds of the adult characters. I'm lucky there's a friggin' flashback at all.

I know exactly what you mean. Thankfully Stein does talk about his own issues a bit, so I have that to work from.
