triple_d_ooc | Introductions are in order

Salutations. I'm a new player here and I'm bringing in Ciel Phantomhive from Kuroshitsuji. Jut a little info about him:

Ciel was your normal average child growing up in Victorian England until his 10th birthday when both of his parents Earl Vincent Phantomhive, and Rachel Phantomhive were murdered. It was believed that Ciel had also perished in the inferno that destroyed their palatial Manor house only he reappeared three years later with a butler clad all in black in tow. Now he seeks revenge against those that humiliated and sullied the Phantomhive name.

Also he took up the responsibilities his father left behind. Those baring the Phantomhive name have acted as Queen Victoria's unseen hand for years, ridding the underbelly of English society from the filth that Scotland Yard is unable to reach themselves.

He also runs a toy and confectionery company (Funtom). Ciel himself can seem cold and unfeeling but as a noble he is also able to be quite diplomatic. It depends on the situation really.

I have a friend really into Kuroshitsuji but I've never watched it.

The style definitely looked like it was from something older. Impressive that it's still in operation. Plus it's nice to see a muse from an older series.

Maybe you can catch it sometime. The manga is better in some regards, and vice versa. I won't say why though since it would reveal spoilers.

Volume 84 came out not long ago :3

I actually usually stick to stuff I'm translating because I like to feel like I'm doing something, but I occasionally pick up stuff already in English. I may pick it up someday.

Ah, so you make your own translations. Just for yourself or for others to read? I translate on occasion (~~not fluent~~) but I have no qualms reading what's already been translated ~~unless it's been done by a company that enjoys using slang that makes no sense x.x;.. or just bad translations in general~~. I'm not sure I'll ever watch the Funimation version x.x;.. or read .. whoever is releasing the manga's version.

The main one I read that was already translated was From Eroica With Love. But CMX is gone now :(

Is there a website where you post your translations? I was translating something I intended to post but wow, I've been so slow with it XD.

Translations can take a lot of time... I've seen many a translator not even get through a whole chapter before vanishing forever.

They can indeedy. It's sad but I would imagine that happens more often than not. At least they give it a shot, but it would be nice to get a chapter down ^__^!

Unfortunately, I've had a lot of trouble finding anyone with RAWs. I have like, 5 chapters translated and only 3 or something ever got edited.
I have all the volumes irl...

It just makes me smile to see that someone even know what Shinesman is XD.

Tracking down raws can be a pain, for sure.

You linked to Lililicious! *just noticed this* I read their Maria-sama manga/anime translations on occasion. Other than that I haven't looked around that site much.

Some of my other friends are into Kyo Kara Maoh, but I haven't given it a shot yet.

KKM is a parody of shoujo shows, basically. I really enjoy it; the novel is a lot better than the anime from what I've read so far (they're making a manga now but don't be fooled, it came last, not first D:)

It actually got licensed but they never did anything with it.

It sounds like it should be entertaining. A good parody is always welcome. Many times the novels are better <3. (Seems like another series took a similar order.. the manga being last.. I can think of at least two.)

That may be a good thing. When something gets licensed I always have mixed feelings about it. On occasion, amazing things come out of it but it doesn't seem like it happens often.

It's a cute series. I haven't felt too bad about translating because they've sat on the license the entire time... They never actually published anything.

Maybe I'll give it a look sometime.
