Hey guys! Sorry this is like a day late but I got all confused on what day it was (seriously, all of my homework is dated wrong it's horrible). So here's the skinny on the xDere virus.
This virus utilizes a number of anime-based tropes that I like to affectionately call the "Dere Family." Dere itself is a shortened version of the Japanese otomatopoeia デレデレ ( dere dere ) that essentially correlates to "lovey dovey." So yes, this is a love-based virus. In this virus, your character will harbor feelings of affection for another character in the game that they may not normally have, but here's the catch: There are specific ways they'll end up showing them. There re a number of dere types, and here's a list of some of the most commonly known ones:

There re a number of dere types, and here's a list of some of the most commonly known ones:
- Tsundere
This type of dere is one of the staples tropes of the anime world. Tsundere characters are rough on the outside, acting irritable, uncooperative, and sometimes violent toward the people that they like except when they show their true colors when being intimate or shy.
Yandere
This type of person can get a bit dangerous. Yandere characters are sweet on the outside, then possessive, controlling, and occasionally murderous once they find someone they're attached to. Usually a little bit on the crazy, obsessive stalker-level side. If your character goes a bit far with this, you might want to put a warning on your post so nothing too drastic catches anyone by surprise.
Kuudere
Cold, distant type. Once they open up and accept someone, it can get very affectionate, but it's pretty hard to get in in the first place.
Dandere
This type of person is extremely shy. They might be the quiet library girl type or the person who just doesn't speak up in a group. They've got a lot to say and are very in their heads, which becomes apparent when they finally open up their hearts to someone.
Himedere/Kamidere
This is the type of person who's naturally haughty because they treat themselves like a god/goddess/princess/queen, etc. They're better than everyone else-- you know, unless you embarrass them or they've got feelings for you, then there's cute stuttering and real emotions. Kamidere is the more extreme level, but both tend to act as though others should serve them.
Deredere
A form of pure dere. They act lovey-dovey, sweet, and energetic all the time. There's no stopping their love from pouring down from the heavens!
