It's October and you know what that means: it's time for the presentation of a player run event! To this end, I present to you all...
Kaitou's handy guide to surviving the Rider War!
As Shown Here if you missed the livestream on Saturday.
The way this event is going to work is that the movie
AllRider vs DaiShocker will be coming up soon on the 2nd week of October, and run between the
7th to the 11th as a week-long binge of chaos. This serves as both a canon update for the
Kamen Rider Decade storyline, but also as a interactive event for people.
There will be a post on the main community of the events laid out and then people can react to it. At this point in time, the floodgates will open and many worlds (you can choose if your world is affected or not), will be flooded with Shocker Kaijin of all kinds. Kaijin are of course, monsters, typically cyborgs and will be running through a whole gauntlet of creature types. Following is a handy guide to the monsters available for this event:
Shocker Combatmen: These are your basic enemies. Dressed in black from head to toe with a skull motif, they precede themselves with a loud "EEE!" and a "Hail Hitler"-style salute. Yes, Shocker is Ex-Nazi. They host considerable strength being remodelled humans into cyborgs, and will explode if dealt enough damage. Expect these guys in droves, and they're usually armed with large knives and/or firearms.
Shocker Kaijin: These range between creatures such as Tigers, Lions and Bears. Usually distinguishable by overlarge belt buckles and their tendency to yell their animal names out. Shocker Kaijin are humans remodelled with animal characteristics in order to make them stronger. Enough damage will make them explode.
Heisei Era Kaijin: This is where things get a little more nitty gritty, in the monster types. For the sake of the plot, and the fact that everyone in Decade seems to ignore these facts, they are all killable with enough damage and will go down in droves if dealt enough damage. There is a lot of enemies involved here, all in animal-based creatures. The following are below:
Grongi: These monsters are strong, with various types of them. The Grongi are
Kuuga's enemies and precede the following types. When struck hard enough, their belts send a self-destruct signal across their bodies and they explode.
Unknown: Significant here are the caster-types, armed with staves who like to cast big area of effect magic. Their goal is to prevent human evolution. They are also able to be destroyed. These monsters are the enemies of
Agito.
Mirror Monsters: The monsters of
Ryuki who feed on humans in order to survive. They are present mostly in reflective surfaces, and a sort of ringing precedes them. If you hear this, get the hell away from the reflective surface and prepare for a fight. They will emerge into the real world for this event. For the purpose of this,
Shereghosts which are numerous in count will be representing Ryuki's enemies. The Shereghosts only power is that they attack in swarms.
Orphnochs:
Faiz presented us with evolved humans who have died. The Orphnochs. They tend to attack their victims by burning their hearts up, and trying to create more of themselves. There's about a 1/10th chance that a victim will spawn a new one. They are characterized by being bone-white typically, and come in types such as lions and other predatory animals.
Undead: Typically unkillable enemies of
Blade, the Undead have proven to be surprisingly fragile lately. They tend to show up in the forms of bugs, and other major formats. Just go nuts with these guys.
Makamou: The enemies of
Hibiki, for this purpose we will go with the GIANT ENEMY CRABS that appear in the Decade series. Just overly large crab battles. They can be found menacing buildings and such.
Worms: For the purpose of the event, the enemies of
Kabuto will be unmolted and in their larvae state which resemble large green pillbugs. In this state, they are incapable of Clock Up which moves them at near lightspeed. If you're a speedster, please by all means molt your enemies.
Imagin: We'll be going with Mole Imagin for this event, which resemble metallic moles with digging claws and a blade on the other hand. They will simply be rampaging instead of making contracts with people to fly into the past.
Fangire: Energy vampires from
Kiva who are often found preying on their victims with "fangs" that materialize out of the air. There's a couple of notable ones, the Moose Fangire and the Rat Fangire, stronger enemies of the Riders.
That should cover it for the enemies. As noted, you do not have to be superpowered to deal with these monsters. A lot of them, especially Ryuki's enemies and Shocker Combatmen are very much able to be defeated with martial arts and/or firearms. Even creative thinking can defeat many of these opponents.
The event will end with the Riders dealing a finishing blow to Shocker's plans, (for now) on the 14th with a post from Kaitou. From which point there will be a long break from
Decade canon updates since this series is known for back to back Rider Wars.
Players are encouraged to make posts talking to people who aren't affected, who are, which worlds are being flooded with Kaijin of all kinds, and just have a blast. It's long-running so there should be enough time for everyone to have some fun, kill some monsters, and/or provide safe havens for those who aren't able to defend themselves.
Again, the event is running from the
7th to the 11th which is an entire week. Much like the Buffy S5 event of last year, this has connected your world to Tsukasa's Home World and basically has opened the floodgates to weird stuff.
Feel free to use this page to plot out things as well!
