December Events!

Hey everyone! Tay-mod here with the agenda for December events and viruses. We're going to do things a liiiittle different this time around. First of all, this month we're going to do some kind of winter or holiday-themed virus! That's right, a virus, and it's not on Christmas!

What kind of virus, you ask? Well-- that's going to be up to you guys. That's right, step one is everyone comes over and suggests viruses on THIS POST. Here's the schedule of how this is going to work out:
December 1: Holiday/Winter virus submissions start. The only qualification is that it's in the spirit of the season and it follows the game's rules.
December 7: All suggested viruses will be put up on a voting post for the whole community to vote on. The virus with the most votes will get played out!
December 14: Voting ends and a plotting post will be put up!

The virus dates itself will depend on the nature of the winning virus, but it will be somewhere between the dates of December 17th and 21st so that everyone's got Christmas open to spend doing whatever they want. Holidays are a busy time for a lot of people and if they aren't? This is an opportunity for your character to get some happy family time with the people they care about for Christmas.

Now, I know you all like parties and we usually have a Christmas party-- but don't fret! There will be a party. Just not for Christmas. Instead, it'll be a huge New Years Eve party! That will be held December 31st and ICly run into the New Year past midnight, though the post for the party will go up a little bit earlier than that so you guys can get a head start. There will be more info on this a little closer to the event, but it will be magical community formal wear and all, we promise.

Alright guys, we're really looking forward to seeing the kinds of holiday suggestions you want for this month's virus! Remember, it can be Christmas-related but you're definitely not limited by that, so have fun and let your creative streak shine!

It's a Wonderful Life Virus

Everyone gets to see what canon would be like without them around! It can be as sweet and sentimental, hilarious and irreverent, or sad and tragic as the player desires. So, maybe without your character around, the world crumbles, or maybe the world throws a party instead!

Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, & Future

[personal profile] notjustathief 2012-12-01 05:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Merry hauntings! Each character gets a glimpse at a Christmas from the past, the present, or the future. It's up to the player to decide if they are brought their personally by a Christmas ghost, or if they witness it as a video post to the community.

Note: the Christmas does not have to be their own Christmas celebration -- they can witness what Mom is up to this Christmas back in their hometown, or see what their grandkids are up to decades from now, if they so choose.

Christmas Movie Virus

ColorKidLalaPink (11:20 am): ...Christmas movie virus. Everyone's life becomes the plot of a Christmas movie. We would probably have five different people doing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and a huge group re-enacting Die Hard.

totally ripping off the person above

Snowball Taisen (War) Virus

[personal profile] of_many_treasures 2012-12-01 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
At various random times, people randomly get the urge to pick up snow that just appears and throw it randomly. It hits a random target on the community through the power of convenient Decade-style portals everywhere until a giant war breaks out. Sort of a prelude to a big event that I want to run much later but virus versioned for this.

attack of the deranged mutant killer monster snow goons!

[personal profile] shadow_spread 2012-12-01 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Everybody on the community gets snow, even those whose climate doesn't usually support it at all. What fun! For a day, everyone can just play in the snow with nothing other than maybe getting hit by too many snowballs as an ill effect.

But if your character, or someone around them, builds a snowman/snowwoman/snowrobot, well...the next day that snow goon will come to life. And they'll be pissed. You can't destroy them, as they put themselves back together and strangely heat doesn't melt them. And they're using the rest of that snow to build themselves an army...

Perhaps you have to worldhop to get away from the menacing snow goons. Perhaps you have to call in reinforcements. Perhaps you have to appease the mighty snow demons, or freeze them all with the garden hose while they're asleep.

In any case, everybody learns the important lesson that snow goons are bad news.

Santa Ducks are Coming To Town

[personal profile] thekidsare0kay 2012-12-01 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Everyone in the community has a powerful urge to jump in a flying sleigh and take presents to everyone else in the community. Though of course the problem is that no one has a worldhopping sleigh...or do you?

Sleighs are being handed out like cheap cigars, and all everyone wants to do is visit everyone else in the community and leave something under the tree. Sliding down chimneys is optional, and what else you might do while sneaking into people's houses - especially if no milk and cookies were left out for you - is up to you.
