Hi guys, Waffle here, and I had an idea for an event that I'd like to run past everyone.
What if we ran multiple viruses at the same time? Like, five viruses at once, some people getting affected by all five. So, for example: animal virus, gender virus, alignment virus, family virus, and falling in love with a random person virus.
If we take, say, Rufus for example, he might turn into a small female rabbit who was perhaps happy and cute and completely evil but was head over heels in love with Axel and thought that Toph was his father.
It would only last for a couple of days, of course, as per usual, but obviously the epic insanity would be epic. The lead-up, however, would take longer.
You see, given the community's habit of only pushing out virus per month, Yuuko (the dimension witch, remember?) has come to the conclusion that (and here's where I start getting fake technical) the community, as a point in time and space where worlds collide, creates energy as a result of that meeting point. The energy gives the community some degree of sentience, but also builds up dangerously. To release the energy, the community creates the viruses, which, though extremely annoying and potentially dangerous to sanity and reputation, are really rather tame compared to some of the other possibilities.
Maybe after a particularly rough virus, some of the community members decide they've had enough and go ask Yuuko to end the viruses forever. Yes, Yuuko could do it, she says, but she needs the help of every single community member as part of the price.
The price: Total community silence for a day or two (maybe longer, it doesn't matter as you'll see later). No posting on the comm at all. This is actually necessary for her to be able to do this properly: posting actually causes ripples in the built up energy, and to get rid of the build-up, Yuuko has to gather it all together in one big mass first. If there is posting on the comm, then the ripples, no matter how slight, would cause an imbalance which would cause the whole thing to blow up in everyone's faces, so to speak.
So everyone agrees to the terms, but perhaps some lurking evil-doers, maybe the Master, or maybe even the Weeping Angels, decide that hey, they prefer the chaos, and spam the comm during the delicate silence period.
And that's when all hell breaks lose. Five viruses at once.
TL;DR? Comm members wish for Yuuko to rid comm of all viruses, it doesn't work, and as a result five viruses happen at once.
SO what do you think? Obviously this would take some time to engineer, we'd have to have a virus to spur on the wish, and then Yuuko has to set up everything, and then there has to be at least SOME period of community silence for there to be any build up, and then Big Bad has to spam the comm, and that's when the viruses hit all at once. I'm not suggesting we do this soon, something like this needs set up that could perhaps span a couple months.
Y/N/M? I'll gladly take any suggestions, too.

I think this could be a really epic thing, but holy god it would be confusing. Chaos is exactly the word. XD; It'd need a lot of notice and planning, yeah. Possibly we could have a virus-free month afterwards to kind of...compensate?

I know, the trick would be to keep everyone informed and keep everyone on top of what was going on until it was time for the mass chaos part of the deal.
And I think a virus-free month after would be an excellent idea, and it would definitely work with the plot... we could say that the energy built up and expelled means that there could even be two months before enough energy would build up again.

... Also, your journal name looks really familiar. Are you by any chance a member of
capslock_atla? And if so, were you by any chance a part of the epic finale night chat?no subject
... OH WAIT wrong person, lawl.no subject

That would probably be me. Lawl.no subject
... Oh! Yes, it would be. XDno subject
Yeah. I'm the one who didn't discover the community until the day of the finale... and that made me actual pay attention to my LJ.
How are you? :^)

I do remember you from the finale chat, though. Er. If that... was you. (I phail, yes.) Interesting to see a fellow capslocker here, though.
Oh, very good. And you? :P

My name was reversed to angelic-random and I was doing stupid commentary along with everyone else.
Really? Is it not that common? Is that why you asked about being from the capslock comm?
Haven't been feeling well, but overall I'm doing good.
no subject
Well, you're only the second one that I've encountered so far. There could very well be more, of course, but I haven't made the connection.
Aw. D: Feel better soon!

WE ARE LEGION! FOR WE ARE MANY! WE ARE
ANONYMOUSCAPSLOCKERS!I will in a couple days. It's probably good I'm not in a plot-heavy RP, right? I can leave for a couple days and just lurk like this and no one would get upset at me for holding stuff up. Lol!

If we -did- go through with it, I'd have no viruses for the next two, three months, either, because jesus christ, 5 virsuesesese. And I know people'll get ticked over that. I just know once it's over everyone will snap back to normal and that's... a little stupid after having gone through 5 viruses at once. It just... it seems like overkill? Like really really really pushing the limits and though we keep saying 'if we do it right' there's really -no way- to do that right, especially considering there arent 5 potential virus ideas that mesh well enough right now that'd work and the ones that would -- well we just did them. It wouldn't make sense at all to do that.
Should you guys want to do like, 2 viruses at the same time (eg. genderswap and alignment) or something, I'd be up for that but... not for a long time, just because... well, again, the only viruses that'd work for that have been done and I don't fancy redoing viruses with so little time between.
s-simply, this is a big big big big big no from me. I'll leave it up to the other mods to veto my decision if you guys really want to do it but I don't like the idea at all. ._.;; sorry.

*petpet* You're an excellent mod, Norry. I'm not mad.

What if a lot of different virus effects started happening erratically? With old virus effects coming and going at random. Perhaps sometimes even having partial or mismatched effects. I dunno, just a thought.
no subject
I do think five at once is way overkill, but having a "return of old viruses" and they malfunction... Like, alignment virus malfunction = random alignment, gender malfunction = neuter or hermaphrodite (lawl), etc. and so on.
Alternatively, it could be a new, different virus that everyone would think was hellish to live through.
That's just my two cents.
