Yeah, it would have an effect, because in the alternate timeline Ten was dead before Blink happened. So feel free to do what you want with them!
As for the RL, Ten isn't actually going to be bringing everyone along! My idea was that he would leave a community post before the huge fight explaining the situation and telling everyone not to follow him. But there would be the co-ordinates of the place accidentally hidden in the message for people (eg, Tieria or anyone with hacking skills) to find and follow. My idea was that everyone would get a hop from a world-hopper and things would go from there, with Ten being rather annoyed at everyone putting themselves in danger, ha ha!
