For those to understand my canon: Stargate; you will know that the Stargate is a portal to other worlds in that canon.
I was wondering what people (especially the mods) thought about makes the Stargate a world hopper?
I don't know if this is right way to go about this but I thought I'd ask anyway.
Thoughts anyone?

Unless there are solar flares involved. Those always seem to be blamed on everything. :p

If I remember correctly, travel through a Stargate to other worlds is only uni-directional. (And I should have said black holes before, not solar flares. Solar flares cause time travel. Silly me.)

So, theoretically, we could have someone use the Stargate to leave the canon-verse, but that person would need another method of world hopping to return?

I think that's the case. But it sounds like there's a lot of effort that goes into the one-way worldhop in the first place. It's not like, say, switching on a TARDIS. b:
They could always unearth another Quantum-Mirror-type-thing. I always had my doubts about whether or not it was actually destroyed, anyway.

You never know. It's up to all the Stargate players to decide with one another before implementing. We'll just have to see what they come up with.
