Fun times with Envy!

So, as some of you may have realized, Envy cut a deal with Eris in order to regain his powers. In exchange, he'll have to wear a collar and do her bidding, and we all know that the one thing Eris loves more than anything is sowing the seeds of chaos wherever she goes.

That being said, consider this an opportunity for Envy to mess around with your character. It can be anything from a simple prank to kidnapping a character's loved one and holding them for ransom. As long as he's causing trouble for others, it's fine by Eris!

But first, a few notes on Envy. The Philosopher's Stone that Eris gave him is not quite as powerful as the one he had before, which means he has fewer "extra lives" to expend if he gets injured. And since he's a rather cowardly character to begin with, Envy will try to avoid any unnecessary fighting, if at all possible. He's a big fan of trickery and psychological torture and prefers to just screw around with your head rather than fight you out-right, unless his victim is significantly weaker than himself.

Just remember, Envy's claim to fame is his ability to take the form of any person or creature he's seen at least once, even if it's just from a photograph (though there are some limitations to what he can replicate). Most of his pranks will probably involve disguising himself as someone close to the victim and using that bond to manipulate the person in question.

So, if anyone is interested in future plots involving Envy, reply here! There's no specific timeline to follow because the next major canon move won't be happening until spring.

Greed's more fight happy than Envy, but he also thinks Envy would know and have access to his anime only weakness, so there's a pretty good power balance no matter how cocky Greed plays it.

Fu fu fu... I've been dying to have these two actually meet in person, at some point.

As it stands, Envy is still convinced that this Greed is not an "alternate timeline" one, so it's doubtful he knows of the anime only weakness. I think he'd much prefer the mindfuckery route with Greed, anyway, just because mental trauma is often so much more lasting than physical trauma.

If anything, Envy would go after Greed's "possessions," because there's no better way to piss off the greedy bastard than by stealing his stuff.

I can't imagine how Envy COULD know the anime only weakness given it's based on the anime-only Homunculi origins, but while Greed knows they're in different timelines and even suspects that Homunculi and alchemy are a little different between worlds, too much is the same for him to be comfortable.

And Greed's psychological "counter", thinking Envy is Hohenheim's son with an abandonment axe to grind and Step Daddy issues with Greed doesn't apply to Manga-Envy.

In the anime, Greed went with the helpful-suicide-by-Ed route (vs. helpful-suicide-by-Father in the manga) instead of being confronted with his weakness. Without knowing it, Envy has a distinct psychological advantage.

We don't have any of the chimera crew to go after, but Greed's pretty chummy with almost anyone he's interacted with on comm. besides Envy.

The simple answer is that he couldn't. Unless Greed told him. Which definitely ain't happening.

Well... the abandonment issues DO apply, somewhat. It just applies to the Homunculi as a family, in general. Manga-Envy DOES show attachment to the other Homunculi, and their Father. Hohenheim actually points out the fact that the Father created the Homunculi because he was jealous of humans and their ability to create families and communities. And since Envy is the Father's jealousy... you can see where I'm going with this.

Yup. And I'm pretty sure Envy doesn't know what Greed's chimera crew looks like, since King Bradly was the one who went in and exterminated them all, so he couldn't go after them, even if he wanted to.

Of course, it would be exceedingly easy for Envy to impersonate Greed in order to screw around with his friends. Since he knows quite a bit about Greed's personality, he's less likely to slip up with his disguise.

True, but Greed would be missing the mark with any mental attacks he tried, since he'd try the 'daddy' route instead of the 'sibling' route. Well, there's also the fact that Greed's just not as good at mind games as Envy...

But, yeah, feel free to imitate Greed wherever and however you like, obviously! Bonus points if I can be linked to follow the fun.

Well, who needs to learn mind games when you can just take what you want by force? That's where Greed has the advantage. Envy's a rather average fighter, compared to the other Homunculi, and he's a coward at heart, so Greed would probably be able to kick Envy's ass rather handily.

Well, Envy likes to observe his victims first and try to learn as much about their weaknesses as possible. Otherwise, it's really, really easy to tell that he's an impostor.

So, he'll be ICly creeping around the comm and keeping tabs on all sorts of people. Hanging around Eris will also make learning about potential victims much easier, too.

Envy disguised as Edward and just... trying to screw their relationship up even worse than it already is since the Marriage Virus. Though, I think I'd need to get permission from Edward-mun before I do something like that.

I don't know if Envy could pull it off well enough to fool Winry close up, though. Automail has to have a sound - hydraulics and steel - and metal and oil have a particular odor.

Now...if it was from a distance...close enough Winry could see him and hear him, but not that close, it would work. And I'm sure there are terrible, evil things Envy could do from a close distance. XD

Oh yes, he'd do something over the community first off, to gain her confidence, since it's all audio/video there. And since Envy is shown to canonically replicate inorganic material (ie, changing his arm into a sword) I don't think it would be a far stretch to replicate automail, but you're right about it being difficult to pull off accurately.
