Hi. I'm writing this to let everyone know I'm dropping from DDD. I've been here a long time and this has probably been a long time coming. I'm definitely going to miss people here.

You can assume Maraich has gone on and is taking care of Matthias and Figaro in his over-obsessive motherly way and all is well. I'll still be playing at GB and Amat.

We haven't interacted much at all since I was a complete newbie here, but I'm really going to miss seeing him around. Even with your lowered activity, Maraich has still been a DDD staple to me, and I've really enjoyed seeing how he's developed (two long-term pregnancy/child plots that were done right and weren't forgotten/abandoned by a player who got bored of them definitely aren't something to sneeze at). As a player, too, you've always been really welcoming and helpful-- if I'm remembering correctly, you were actually the player who I did my first-ever RP plot with (when Azula went to try to fight Maraich and he tried to blow her up fff), and you were really nice and patient with my cluelessness. So, thank you for that!

Oh man, so much old stuff. Going through the character names I still had people on my flist that hadn't even been around in years.

I think Matthias will be a sad part for me. Figaro exists in canon but Matthias not so much, so leaving pretty much makes him non-existent now.

Azula has been around a pretty long time too now.

Well, at least you have the option of not having him forget-- that's one of the things I like best about DDD; alternate universes and branching timelines means that you don't *have* to erase development even after you drop. So I wouldn't think of him as nonexistent at all!

Well, maybe not *friends* of his, but I know that I plan on having Azula around as long as DDD is. :P

Lots of good memories. Silver's long-winded rants, the big Phoenix Wright trial with EVINDENCE PRODUCTS, I remember tons of old characters like Lussuria and Ari and the first Demyx...

Yeah, about then. It's been a pretty long time.

And with the same character too; pretty impressive!

I started with Maraich and Kurt Howell. I was actually more nervous about Maraich - this was back when I was starting to translate Patalliro, and someone had asked me to RP Maraich with them. I wasn't sure about him.

I played Kurt Howell for about a year and actually liked him more, but then his character was a bit stagnant. He was just the type of character who is eternally clueless. I like to think he and Phil are off writing each other letters from their little isolated places.

I got more comfortable with Maraich later as I kept reading and learned more about his character (which I'm still doing, about 1/4 of the way through the series now. So, 22 volumes in - to be fair that's longer than most series already).

You're definitely braver than I would have been. :P

I think the fact that Maraich had conflicts made him more interesting to play. Kurt like... everyone liked Kurt.

Maraich had friends and enemies and frenemies and stuff ^o^ And sometimes it was entirely his fault.
Sometimes playing out conflicts are the funnest part; especially if you click with some people.

Oh man, agreed. My favorite conflicts are the ones where both characters are at fault in their own way; I tend to find those really interesting.

Part of the fun with Maraich was how petty he can be. It could be easy to start silly conflicts.

Haaa, same here with Azula, though I've had her mature a bit lately. There are still some people who she'll be horribly petty about, though.
