After much deliberation, the DDD mod team has chosen four new modpoles. Please welcome R (player of Kouichi Aizawa, Yoite, Kaworu Nagisa, and Soldier Blue), Ichi (player of Minatsuki Takami, Celty Sturluson, River Tam, and Shijima Kurookano), Tay (player of Yuri Nakamura, Kobato Hasegawa, Buffy Summers, Christie Allen, and Takashi Natsume), and Orly (player of Michael Westen, Takiko Okuda, Ayako Matsuzaki, Masamori Sumimura, Orlando Gardiner, Sayaka Miki, and Anthy Himemiya)!

Ichi will be helping CND with apps, Tay will be helping Miri with events, and Orly and R will be helping me with lists and general upkeep. In addition, they'll all be available to answer questions (and bring things to the attention of the other mods if it's something that they can't field on their own), so don't be afraid to approach them! They're all wonderful people who are dedicated to the game and its players. ♥

Things have been a bit crazy for your mod team lately, in case you haven't noticed, so we've decided to bring on a couple of modpoles to help pick up the slack. Specifically, we are looking for someone interested in helping Miri with Event and Virus Scheduling and someone to be a backup/helper for Cnd for Applications.

Modpoles get invited to our SUPER SECRET COMMUNITY where we sit around being fed peeled grapes by nubile young men and women discuss issues that come up with the game, as well as basically helping out with whatever needs doing. It's fun and low pressure, but does require a commitment to the game as a whole and generally being around when issues come up.

Hey guys, this is your periodic friendly reminder not to create extraneous tags on the main comm. We're maxed out at 1000 again, unfortunately. Make sure that when you make posts to the main community you tag only with your character's name, the virus/event name if applicable, or 'intro' if it's an introduction. Save the going nuts with creative tags for personal journals, I know I always have way too much fun coming up with them. ♥

We haven't had one of these in a long time (or at least it seems like we haven't, I can't find the last one O_o) so here we go again! Are you looking for canon-mates? Do you have a favorite show/game/etc. whose characters would fit so well into DDD's highly dysfunctional family? Well now's your chance to pimp it!

Go ahead and comment to this post with your canon, the reasons it's so damn awesome, the characters you want most, and any other info that may get people interested. Give us links to fansites, favorite source quotes, etc. You may jog someone's memory on a fandom they once loved and would like to bring to DDD, or inspire enough interest for them to explore a new canon on their own, resulting in a possible app.

Our only request is that you don't go too overboard with the info dump. It's easy to ramble when it comes to your favorite fandoms, but if your comment's too long it might get passed over. Try to keep it short, simple, and sweet. Here's a handy little form for you to use if you so choose.

As you may have noticed, the Player Directory has been moved to ddd_news. Not only that, but there's also a new category in there: How's My Driving? (as of right now, it's only listed under my entry in the PD)

Concrit posts for your characters are entirely optional (though encouraged!) and for those of us who have them, I would highly recommend linking them there. They're often difficult to find, especially if you don't have them stickied on your journal, so having them listed in one, central location is beneficial.

Obviously, I'm the only one who can edit the PD now, but I will keep it updated on a weekly basis. I track the applications and drops posts, so there won't be any need to let me know when you've added or removed characters. All I ask is that you let me know if and when you've changed things like your e-mail address, AIM name(s), or other contact information.

Tif and I are going to be writing a newbie FAQ to put up on the Wiki. We'll be compiling a lot of the information that's already up there, but I don't think it covers some of the more common questions that get asked. That's where you come in! :Db

Can you think of some questions you've seen asked a lot that you think the FAQ would benefit from having? How about questions that you haven't seen asked? Hell, what about questions you've been afraid to ask (those are probably the best!)?

Hey, everyone! As you’re probably aware of by now, five of us (Itsuki, Janella, Tif, Miri, and myself) were recently given the opportunity to assist the mods in player relations. Some of you may be wondering what that means. What purpose do we serve? How will any of this benefit the community? Will there be cake? I thought it would helpful to outline what it is we can and can’t do so you’ll know what to expect from us. :)

What we can do:
Research player disputes
Field suggestions and complaints
Enforce rules that are already in place
Mediate disagreements that don’t require action (and escalating disagreements that do)

What we cannot do:
Make modly decisions
Discipline players
Create new rules

In addition to acting as liaisons between players and mods, we’re also available to answer any general questions you might have. Our contact information can be found in the Player Directory (*cough* go add yourself if you haven't already *cough*).

For the quickest response, it would probably be best to contact someone in a time zone close to your own. Ours are:

Dramadramaducklings! Thank you so much for your overwhelming response in regards to our request for volunteers! We have decided to go with four members, who will be assisting the mods with player relations, with a fifth to possibly be announced shortly, so please stay tuned! These volunteers will be working with the mods by helping field player concerns and issues, gathering logs and overall helping us monitor things and get things taken care of much more efficiently than we have been able to in the past.

So on that note, the mods would like to welcome to the team idgiebay, crimsonobsessor, dreamoflight, and jkbaduini! You probably know them best as Phoenix, Edgeworth, Itsuki/Tamaki, and Phil/Blackout!

These assistants to the mods will be available for any concerns that you have, though any actual decision making will still lie in the hands of the current mod team of Click, Norry, Shiro, Psi, and myself. Phoenix and Edgeworth will be focusing on the OOC comm, while Itsuki and Blackout will be helping us with issues in chat.
